to tell us if you are coming to either of the La Chureca Exhibits.
I was browsing the net for information about social and economic inequalities and I came across your photograps...I can't stop crying. It is heartbreaking to see that real people live this way and yet others in the same country have so much. I just don't get it. I would like to share this information with my fellow students in a sociology class.
Thank you so much
I'm a medical student at UTHSCSA, last year my group visited La Chureca and this year I'm planning a new trip to bring some medical supplies. I'm really happy to see that there are others out there helping this community. I was born in Managua, Nicaragua and I grew up seeing the many difficulties people have to overcome to just survive a day without hunger. From the bottom of my hear I THANNK YOU for everything you do!
I went there with my youth group in July. Since then I have been working with others to collect books and start a small library for them.
I hope to be there in person next year, and perhaps even live in Managua for a while at some point. If you want to know more about the library project check out www.librarymission.wordpress.com
Your work is beautiful and inspiring. I just got back from visiting La Chureca myself, and I am thrilled to see someone raising awareness for the horrors of the dump community.
I spent 8 days in Nicaragua, visited La Chureca, and spent 3 days with some of the children that live there. I am back in the U.S. now, but my heart is still in Nicaragua. Love your pictures, even though they make me cry. God bless!
I was born in Nicaragua and then moved to the US around 8 years ago, ever since I remember, I have seen kids on the streets selling anything they can, also heard a lot about le Chureca, I am so touch by all you do, it really shows me that some people care about other human beings in poor countries, THANK YOU, please keep on doing this..
GOD BLESS YOU
I stumbled upon your beautiful site purely by accident and I was overwhelmed by how effectively you captured the essence of la Chureca. I visited in January 2004 on a humanitarian project and the images still haunt me. Best wishes for continued success in bringing this little corner of the world into the light of day.
Best of luck on the new exhibit... miss you guys! Come visit the Big Apple :-)
look guys.. i'm posting.. you can too.
Let us know if you can make it to Waco!
Nicely done. I hope to make it tonight -- a very worthwhile project.
Wow!! The pictures are absolutely amazing! I just hope I can go to one of the shows and see the rest!
Knowing one of the photographers I feel slightly biased but these images are amazing. I stayed in nicaugua for only a short time but these images make me feel as if I was there myself, seeing the plight these people are going through.
I can't wait to come out and see the exhibit.
Awsome Pictures! I can't wait to go to the Gallery!!
Beautiful Pictures ya'll! Can't wait for the exhibit...
